96-103 rue de Sèvres75006 Paris - France
| || In 1976, in order to promote contemporary French and International art, Elizabeth Krief opened up a gallery in Paris on the left Bank in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. From 1976 until 1999 the gallery featured exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography and various artistic installations.|
In order to give its artists the best possible promotion, the gallery participates each year in the most prestigious international fairs of contemporary art. Elizabeth Krief supports artists in many different ways : acquisitions, conceiving and organising individual and group exhibitions, editing catalogues, book and videos. The gallery maintains a network of close collaborations with different partners : the art press, cultural arbiters, institutions, foundations and international galleries.
In june 1999, Elizabeth Krief decided to close her space. She feels that artistic promotion and the concept of the gallery have evolved and that they can no longer be confined to a fixed place. Artists, to promote their work, are adapting to these changing conditions by conceiving and realising their projects on the very sites of theirs creation.
The gallery aspires to become nomadic.
